Collage and Drawing Art Class inspired by ‘Stuck’ Oliver Jeffers with David from Me & The MoonSaturday 02 April, 2022 @ 9.30amChildren will create their own Stuck artwork. We will read the book, Stuck by Oliver Jeffers, then talk about the different items that have been stuck, and ask what else could have got stuck in the tree?
Children will be asked to roughly sketch out some ideas of what’s Stuck. We will then show how they can recreate some ideas on fresh paper (coloured/textured or plain) using your choice of media - markers/twistables/watercolours. They will then draw a Tree. Drawings/paintings can then be cut out and Collaged (Stuck) onto the Tree. Materials Needed - - Pencil, Sketch paper / Sketchbook, A4 paper; this could be coloured or plain, Colours; Twistables / watercolours(brush+water) / markers / crayons / pastels, A3 sheet of paper, 160g if possible (could be smaller A4 if tight for space), Scissors, Glue stick / PVA+stick This event will take place via Zoom. Zoom links will be sent to participants before classes begin. Suitable for children ages 5- 12 years. A parent or guardian must be present during the event. |
Mad 4 Tales- Children's Writing Workshop with Maeve DevoyWednesday 06 April @6.30pm & Wednesday 13 April @6.30pmEveryone has seen bunnies hop-hop-hopping around! But have they ever seen where the bunnies are bouncing to? Or what they like to bury? In this workshop, children will discover a whole new magical world, right beneath their feet. They will have to follow the bunnies, if they want to discover what the bunnies can teach them? But what will the children be willing to leave behind, to keep the bunnies secret? By focusing on character and scene development, the children will master their storytelling skills, while picking up Maeve's top tips!

Children will create their own character drawing inspiration from Quentin Blake, Oliver Jeffers and their own interests. We will look at both artists different styles of Illustration and show how they can begin to create their own character in their own style. Children will begin with sketches and then we’ll show how they can develop sketches to final artwork.
