
This family-focused Library initiative is part of the National Right to Read Programme that takes place during the month of December. It aims to increase awareness of the benefits of reading together as a family and promote reading as a fun, recreational activity for children.

All branches of Kerry Library are open to everyone. You do not need to be a member to visit the library, read books, newspapers or magazines, to use the study areas and public PCs or access the WiFi, to visit exhibitions or to attend library events. However you will need to be a member to borrow books and other items.
Library membership is open to everyone on completion of an application form (in branch or online), all you need is ID and proof of address.
Membership is completely free. Once you join the library you will be issued with a membership number and PIN. They can used for logging into your online account and accessing online resources and using the ICT services in your local library. You Kerry Library card can be used in any public library in Ireland.
Members can borrow up to 12 items at a time for a period of three weeks. Loans can be extended online, by phone, or by visiting a library in person.

Using the Library
- Always bring you library card to borrow books, and to use the computer and WiFi facilities.
- Register at one branch or mobile library only. Your library card may be used in any branch of Kerry Library, and all other public libraries in Ireland.
- The library is not responsible for personal belongings.
- Persons using the library must not behave in a manner that adversely affects other users and library staff.
- Children should not be left unsupervised in the library.
- Please switch mobile phones to silent during your visit to the library.
