Take a look at the library catalogue to browse the range of instruments available. Visit kerry.spydus.ie and select "Kerry Library Musical Instruments" from the Special Collections menu on the right-hand side of the screen.
Donated instruments can be borrowed by any member of the library. There is no age limit and the library is completely free to join. Information on how to join the library is on the library website: www.kerrylibrary.ie/join-the-library.html
Instruments can be borrowed for 6 months and renewed once, if nobody else is waiting to borrow that instrument.

Donate a Musical Instrument
Kerry Library are accepting donations of musical instruments in all our nine libraries. If you would like to contribute to this project, check your attics and sheds for unused instruments and bring them to your local library. For larger instruments, please contact the library in advance.
Please note: Donors must sign a donation form, agreeing to donate the instrument to Kerry County Council and Music Generation Kerry without condition.

What is the Musical Instrument Project?
In 2023, Kerry Library, in collaboration with the Environment Office, Arts Office, and Integration Department of Kerry County Council, joined forces with Music Generation Kerry to create the Musical Instrument Project. The project put out a call for people to donate unused musical instruments through their local library.
That call was met with great generosity from the people of Kerry, and Kerry Library continue to welcome dusty keyboards, long-forgotten guitars, violins, and electric organs!
Music Generation Kerry evaluates all donated instruments, carries out repairs if needed and compiles a comprehensive catalogue of the instruments. These instruments are made available for borrowing to all residents of Kerry through Kerry Library.
