LOTE4Kids
Kerry Library now offers free access to LOTE4Kids for library members. Children can enjoy the magic of books in LOTE (Languages Other Than English) at home.
Children can also watch, read and listen to each LOTE title translated and narrated in English to help with reading and literacy development. There are 4500+ of digital books in over 70+ languages to choose from with new books and languages released each month. Languages include: Ukrainian, Cantonese, Mandarin, French, Bengali, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Japanese, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Spanish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Tamil, Urdu and many more. You can access LOTE4Kids here using your library card number. There are also activities from colouring pages to word searches that can be downloaded. |
Times Tables Rock Stars
Kerry Library offers access to Times Tables Rock Stars for schools across Kerry. Times Tables Rock Stars is a carefully sequenced maths programme created by maths teachers to support pupils to learn their times tables. Times Tables Rock Stars uses computer game-design elements and principles to make times tables & maths fun for pupils in 2nd class and up.
The resources can be used in the classroom as whole-group instruction or for homework. Teachers can choose to print worksheets or have their students play the game on the app (via IOS and Android) or website. Teachers can also benefit from access to valuable data on the performance of their pupils, which enables them to view progress and easily celebrate successes through the use of custom leader boards and certificates. NumBots
Kerry Library offers access to NumBots for schools across Kerry. NumBots equips each pupil with the set of core maths skills they require by building their knowledge from the ground up - starting at the very beginning with subitising. NumBots is all about every child achieving the “triple win” of understanding, recall and fluency in mental addition and subtraction, so that they move from counting to calculating for pupils in Senior Infants up to 3rd class.
